Head coach Jim Rankin’s Wolverines were led by quarterback Brian Esoldo and runningbacks Jeff Beatrice, Billy Chapman and Mike Dominnelli. Other notable Ellwood City players included Craig Ketterer, Joe Roth, Bill Perretta, Billy Viccari, Dave Hall, Scott Timmerman and Nick Perry.

Center head coach Sam LoFaso countered with quarterback Mike Anderson, runningback Dan Clements and defensive standouts Nick Churvia, Vince Gagric and Tommy Hemer.
