Head coach Jim Rankin’s Wolverines were led by quarterback Brian Esoldo and running backs Jeff Beatrice, Billy Chapman and Dave Hall. Other notable Ellwood City players included Craig Ketterer, Jon Vespaziani, Joe Roth, Bill Perretta, Billy Viccari, Scott Timmerman and Nick Perry. Mars countered with quarterback Guy Black, running back E.J. Wheeler and standouts Mike Papik and Shawn Fortney.
