Beaver Falls head coach Bob Blythe relied quarterback Arthur Henderson, running backs Rodney Lawson and Benny Carter and talented wide receiver Reggie Williams. Other key players included Allen Bozic, Jeff Smith, Jim Turoni, Jim Carbone, Gregg Frankhouser and Ed Reynolds.

Lions head coach Larry Matrazzo countered with quarterback Ron Ellis, running backs Jim Potts, Benny Haddox and receivers Joe Romanchak, Jeff Bolland and Doug Hill. Other standouts included Chris Vukich, Tim Spratt, Dave Collwell, Eric Evans, Don Rae and Kent McDermott.
